Background

We are a dedicated community of makers who are supplying our services and skills to print facial shields to equip frontline EMS, hospitals, doctors, nurses and medical professionals fighting against COVID-19.

Our founding affiliate is one of the largest non-profit crowd-sourced 3D printing farms to date in the fight against COVID-19.

The community, 3DPSA, started and continues to operate on Discord as the primary communication platform, representing over 500 (and growing) South African private individuals who have 3D printers and are contributing to the cause.

What we do
We mobilise the South African 3D printing community to support our drive and getting involved by printing face shield frames, which are assembled into a complete Face Shield.
We collect requests from government hospitals, clinics, medical staff and Front-line workers across South Africa who are in desperate need of the face shields and creating a national database.
Coordinate the collection, delivery, sanitisation and distribution across Gauteng and the Western Cape. National to follow.
Assemble a national logistics team of collection, delivery and distribution volunteers. Currently we have the Off Road Search and Rescue Unit assisting us. These channels need to be extended Nationally.
What we don't do
We do not sell our shields; they are donated to the growing database of hospitals, medical personnel and EMS workers in need, across government and some private sectors.
We DO NOT supply directly to private individuals, private or commercial companies that are not front-line or essential services.
